Overview
IMA devices are migrated from iMinKit into KiwiCloud (KC). In Enrollment Management, each device shows an enrollment type: IMA Manual or IMA Auto.
Prerequisite: After your account is migrated from iMinKit to KiwiCloud, devices will be automatically synchronized from iMinKit to the same KiwiCloud account.
IMA devices fall into two categories in KC:
Activated (IoT activated / IMAMark written): you can only use Batch Enrollment to complete batch manual enrollment and bring devices under management.
Unactivated (IoT not activated / IMAMark not written): you can create an IMA Auto enrollment configuration via Zero-touch Enrollment → IMA Zero-touch, which supports a “configure first, trigger later” workflow.
Technical reason: Activated devices have already completed the setup wizard, so the activation trigger will not run again and auto-enrollment cannot be triggered.
Entry points & buttons
The IMA enrollment page provides two main actions:
Enrollment Config: batch-assign a configuration to unactivated IMA devices, so devices will auto-enroll on boot and apply the selected configuration (IMA Auto).
Batch Enrollment: batch-enroll activated IMA devices to bring them under management (IMA Manual).
A. Activated IMA: Batch Manual (IMA Manual)
Applicable devices
Devices with IoT activation completed (IMAMark written).
Steps
Open Batch Enrollment.
Import devices by an SN list (bulk supported).
Submit to complete batch manual enrollment.
✅ Verify:
In Enrollment Management, the device shows enrollment type IMA Manual.
After enrollment, the device becomes manageable and can receive group and policy assignments.
B. Unactivated IMA: IMA Auto (IMA Auto)
Applicable devices
Devices without IoT activation (IMAMark not written) that have been imported into KC.
Steps
Tenant admin goes to Zero-touch Enrollment → IMA Zero-touch.
Click Enrollment Config and select one or multiple devices (bulk supported).
Select the Enrollment Config to associate and submit/save (the Enrollment Config must be created in KC in advance).
When devices boot and are online, they will auto-enroll and apply the configuration.
✅ Verify:
The IMA Zero-touch list shows the association between devices and the selected Enrollment Config.
After boot, Enrollment Management shows enrollment type IMA Auto.
Devices automatically join the target group and apply group policies; account info and Wi-Fi settings in the configuration are also applied (if configured).
Key rules (must read)
To create an IMA Auto enrollment configuration, devices must be unactivated (IMAMark not written) to support “configure first, trigger later”.
If a device is activated (IMAMark written), you can use Batch Enrollment to complete IMA Manual enrollment.
IMA Auto applies configuration the same way as KMA: after enrollment, devices join the group automatically and apply group policies and configuration items automatically.
Troubleshooting
Device did not auto-enroll: check whether IMAMark is already written (activated devices require batch manual); verify network and time sync; confirm the IMA Auto record was saved successfully.
Unexpected enrollment type: follow the value shown in Enrollment Management (unactivated → IMA Auto; activated + batch enrollment → IMA Manual).
