App Report

Analyze app installs, distribution, blacklist compliance, and per‑device installs to monitor deployment and mitigate risk.

Updated yesterday

1. Features and Objectives

The Application Reports module is designed for enterprise operations and compliance management, providing visualized statistics on application installation volume, distribution sources, blacklist compliance, and per-device installation details. Administrators can leverage these insights to identify key applications and risk points, then coordinate with modules like My Apps and App Release Policy for optimization and remediation.

Special Notes:

  • Report data is based on application and device information collected by the platform, and reflects the actual operating environment.

  • Lists support filtering and exporting (depending on the page controls), enabling secondary analysis and audit record keeping.

Module Components:

Operation Item

Description

Application Data Stats

Provides overview charts: ① Top 10 Applications ranks the most-installed applications within the enterprise; ② Application Type Summary aggregates counts and proportions by source/category (e.g., Google Play public/private/Web, enterprise public/private) to understand application structure and trends.

Application Statistics

Summarizes the overall status of applications within the enterprise in a tabular format. Common fields include: App Name, Package Name, Source, Version Count, Package Size, Installed Devices, Installation Rate. Supports filtering by name and source to identify high or low coverage apps.

Blacklist Statistics

Lists applications in the blacklist and details of blocked devices. Common fields include: App Name, Package Name, Source, Version, Package Size, Blocked Devices. Helps detect unauthorized installations and compliance risks, guiding policy adjustments and remediation actions.

Application Installation Query

A granular device-level installation log for troubleshooting and auditing. Common fields include: App Name, Package Name, Source, Version, Package Size, Device Name, Serial Number, Model/Manufacturer, Installation Time. Supports filtering by application/version/device and exporting for identifying problematic devices or verifying deployments.

Typical Use Cases

  • Compliance Auditing: Use Blacklist Statistics to identify and remove non-compliant apps. Combine with App Release Policy to deploy forbidden/mandatory configurations for quick remediation.

  • Version and Coverage Analysis: Compare installation rates and version distributions in Application Statistics to determine update schedules and target ranges, coordinating with My Apps version management.

  • Store/Region Checks: Use Application Installation Query to trace by device or serial number, verifying whether required apps are installed in key stores, locating abnormal devices, and cross-checking deployment records.

  • Application Structure Optimization: Based on type proportions in Application Data Stats, identify redundant or low-usage apps, and develop a streamlined, standardized app list to reduce maintenance complexity and risk.

2. Application Data Statistics

Description

The Application Data Statistics feature visually presents the overall installation distribution and usage popularity of applications within enterprise devices. It includes two key charts: Top 10 Applications and Application Type Summary, helping administrators quickly identify core applications, low-frequency apps, and application type structures to optimize management strategies and operational investment.

Notes

  • Statistics are based on the current application installation status on enterprise devices, with update frequency determined by device sync and reporting cycles.

  • The Top 10 ranking is calculated from the total installations across all online and offline devices, regardless of application version.

  • Charts only display data for the current enterprise and do not support cross-enterprise or multi-tenant aggregation.

Chart 1: Top 10 Applications

  • Shows the ten most-installed applications across enterprise devices.

  • X-axis: Application names; Y-axis: Number of devices with the app installed.

  • Useful for identifying high-installation business-critical apps and commonly used utility apps.

  • Ranking trend analysis can help monitor the adoption of newly released apps or the phase-out of older ones.

Chart 2: Application Type Summary

  • Displays the number and proportion of applications by KiwiCloud-defined categories:

    1. Google Play Public Apps

    2. Google Play Private Apps

    3. Google Play Web Apps

    4. Enterprise Private Apps

    5. Enterprise Public Apps

    6. Enterprise Web Apps

  • Presented in a pie chart for a clear overview of the enterprise application structure.

  • Helps assess the balance of applications from different sources and delivery methods, providing reference data for application whitelist/blacklist policies and app distribution strategies.

3. Application Statistics

Description

The Application Statistics feature displays key information for all installed applications within the enterprise in a tabular format. It helps administrators quickly analyze application coverage, source distribution, and version variations. This feature supports filtering by Application Name and Source, and allows combining installation counts and percentage data to optimize application deployment and management strategies.

Table Field Descriptions:

  • Application Name: The display name of the application on the device.

  • Package Name: The unique package identifier (Package Name) for locating the app and managing versions.

  • Source: KiwiCloud-defined application source categories, including:

    1. Google Play Public Apps

    2. Google Play Private Apps

    3. Google Play Web Apps

    4. Enterprise Private Apps

    5. Enterprise Public Apps

    6. Enterprise Web Apps

  • Number of Versions: The total number of versions of the application currently within the enterprise.

  • Package Size: The size of the application installation package (in KB/MB).

  • Number of Installed Devices: The number of devices that have the application installed.

  • Installation Ratio: The percentage of devices with the application installed compared to the total registered devices in the enterprise.

Notes

  • Data is based on device information synchronized to the platform, with update frequency depending on the device reporting cycle.

  • The Number of Versions counts all versions of the same package name within the enterprise, without distinguishing specific version distributions.

  • Installation Ratio is calculated against all registered devices in the enterprise, including both online and offline devices.

4. Blacklist Statistics

Description

The Blacklist Statistics feature provides a centralized view of applications that have been placed on the enterprise’s application blacklist, along with the devices where their installation has been blocked. This helps administrators identify risks from unauthorized installations and maintain compliance.

With this feature, administrators can:

  • Quickly verify the effectiveness of blacklist policy enforcement.

  • View the list of blocked devices to confirm device status and details of the violation.

  • Work with Application Release Policies and other measures to complete timely remediation.
